Marked by the presence of the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, this assembly, which gathered more than 150 members and institutional partners, allowed the Moroccan Renewable Energy Cluster (Cluster ENR Maroc) to renew its board of directors in a spirit of continuity and strengthening of its governance, as stated in a communiqué from the Cluster ENR Maroc.
Additionally, the meeting highlighted the key role of the Cluster in supporting the major energy orientations of the Kingdom, the same source added.
On this occasion, Mr. Mezzour, quoted in the communiqué, stated: “The holding of this elective general assembly reflects the renewed commitment of the members of the Moroccan Renewable Energy Cluster towards energy transition and paves the way for a new dynamic, full of opportunities for the national renewable energy ecosystem.”
In this context, he noted that as a true platform for innovation and competitiveness, the Cluster ENR plays a central role in the industrial and territorial anchoring of strategic renewable energy projects.
He further added: “We encourage it to continue its initiatives promoting local integration and to position itself more on future technologies, particularly batteries, energy storage, and green hydrogen—sectors in which the Kingdom is fully committing to solidify its industrial and energy leadership.”
For her part, the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, emphasized in a message read on her behalf by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Mohamed Ouahmid: “The Cluster ENR has a crucial role to play in the evolving national dynamic of energy transition. By bringing together expertise, stimulating innovation and industrial integration for more affordable and low-carbon energy, the Cluster ENR helps us enhance the competitiveness of businesses, develop a local supply, and support the creation of sustainable jobs.”
For his part, Mr. Moufaddal, who will put his experience to serve the industrial and territorial ambitions of the Kingdom following his election at the head of the Cluster, affirmed that the ambition is clear: to make renewable energies a lever for industrialization, competitiveness, and territorial development, creating lasting value for both the economy and the regions.
The new board of directors of the Cluster ENR consists of 22 members representing the entire ecosystem, including large companies, innovative SMEs, professional federations, universities, research and development centers, and financial institutions.
The steering committee and founding members include, in addition to Mr. Moufaddal, the president of CLEANERGY MAROC, Mohamed Lasry, as vice-president; the executive director of Green Hydrogen and Operations at MASEN, Nawfal El Fadil, as permanent secretary; and the general director of the Cluster ENR Maroc, Fatima Zahra El Khalifa.
It also includes the president of the Energy Federation, Rachid Idrissi Kaitouni; the president of the Federation of Metallurgical, Mechanical, and Electromechanical Industries (FIMME), Abdelhamid Souiri; and the president of the National Federation of Electricity, Electronics, and Renewable Energies (FENELEC), Ali El Harti, as permanent administrators.
Established in 2014 at the initiative of MASEN and professional federations, the Cluster ENR is a non-profit association. Under the aegis of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development and supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, it acts as a catalyst for innovation, industrialization, and competitiveness in renewable energies.
