Morocco and France are called upon to design a new generation of partnerships in the field of energy transition to address the challenges posed by climate change, emphasized the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, on Tuesday in Rabat.

“It will be necessary for Morocco and France to work together in an intelligent and concerted manner to achieve a new generation of partnerships to tackle the challenges of climate change and enable the populations on both shores of the Mediterranean to do so sustainably,” the minister stated, following a meeting with the French Minister Delegate to the Minister of Ecological Transition, Energy, Climate and Risk Prevention, in charge of Energy, Olga Givernet, and the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Investment, Convergence and Public Policy Evaluation, Karim Zidane.

The agreements concluded between the two countries in the fields of green hydrogen and energy transition allow for the realization of the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the French President, H.E. Emmanuel Macron, for Morocco and France to play their rightful role in unblocking Africa, Ms. Benali noted during a press briefing.

The minister also welcomed the regular holding of strategic dialogue between the two countries to address technological risks, price volatility, and inflationary risks, calling for the promotion of a mutually beneficial bilateral partnership worthy of the 21st century and of these two great civilizations.
