The 28th edition of the “ECOMONDO 2025” trade fair, a key event in Europe and the Mediterranean basin for the green, blue, and circular economy, will take place from November 4 to 7 at the Rimini Exhibition Center in Italy.
Initiated by the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), this new edition aims to combine economic growth with environmental and social protection through the adoption of ethical and inclusive development models, while promoting dialogue between industry, institutions, and the research community, according to a statement from the organizers.
ECOMONDO 2025 will occupy 30 pavilions over 166,000 square meters of exhibition space, specified Alessandra Astolfi, Global Exhibition Director of IEG’s Green & Technology Division, as quoted in the statement, adding that “thanks to the synergy with the Italian Agency for Trade and Investment (ICE) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), delegations from around the world are expected, in cooperation with 80 international associations from the sector, confirming that it is the leading event in Europe in the field of new innovative models of the circular economy.”
Several countries are the focus of this edition, including Morocco, Germany, Spain, Poland, Serbia, Turkey, and the Netherlands, as well as other countries from North Africa and the Middle East. It is noted that this 28th edition marks “the return of the General States of the Green Economy, organized by the Foundation for Sustainable Development and promoted by the National Council for the Green Economy in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, under the patronage of the European Commission.”
According to the Italian Exhibition Group, the fair maintains its status as a global network, thanks in part to recently organized editions, namely ECOMONDO Mexico and ECOMONDO China – CDEPE, and soon, the Green Med Expo & Symposium will take place in Naples, Italy, from May 28 to 30, and will also be held in 2026.
This 28th edition of ECOMONDO will address six macro-thematic areas focusing on waste as a resource, the water cycle and the blue economy, site and soil restoration, bioenergy and agriculture, earth observation and environmental monitoring, as well as circular and regenerative bioeconomy.
The “Lorenzo Cagnoni Prize” will reward green innovation through the most revolutionary technologies in the various fields of the exhibition.
Among the themes of this edition of ECOMONDO 2025, advanced recycling of strategic raw materials, eco-design and new packaging solutions, artificial intelligence and digitization, new satellite monitoring technologies, with a particular focus on textiles, energy, and the construction sector, should be highlighted.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, the fair offers a rich program of conferences, seminars, and round tables organized by its Technical and Scientific Committee, particularly related to the Next Generation EU plan, ecosystem restoration, the blue economy and regenerative economy, AI, circular economy, and ecological transition in Africa and the Mediterranean basin, also addressing the Mattei Plan.
ECOMONDO 2025 is organized with the collaboration of, among others, the European Commission, the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, the Emilia-Romagna Region, the City of Rimini, the National Association of Italian Municipalities, the National Association of the Automotive Industry, and the European Environment Agency.
