In 2024, the OCP Foundation has given new scope to its commitment to sustainable human development. With its strong local roots and collaborative approach, it has implemented over 200 impactful projects in 13 countries, directly benefiting more than 89,000 people. This assessment, revealed in its annual report, confirms the strengthening of a strategy focused on social innovation, knowledge sharing, and inclusion.

Divided into four major areas — education & innovation, agricultural development, inclusion & entrepreneurship, and territorial development — the actions taken illustrate a genuine commitment to addressing the needs of communities through a co-construction approach. The Foundation has notably forged strong partnerships with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), entities of the OCP Group, and several international NGOs, thereby multiplying synergies on the ground.

Impressive figures: Among the notable results:

  • 75,234 beneficiaries of educational initiatives,
  • 590 hectares reforested,
  • 153 research and development projects supported,
  • 281 engaged partners.

Inclusion is a priority, with enhanced support for students with disabilities and the modernization of learning environments for over 70,000 learners.

A strong commitment to Sub-Saharan Africa

Beyond Moroccan borders, the Foundation has strengthened its presence in several African countries, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa. It has supported women’s cooperatives, schools, and sustainable agricultural projects, thus contributing to the resilience of territories and the creation of local value.

Education and research as engines of transformation

The report also highlights the importance placed on education. Libraries have been established, educational content has been digitized, and young researchers have been supported in strategic fields such as sustainable agriculture, artificial intelligence, and soil engineering. These actions make knowledge a lever for empowerment and development.

A more resilient agriculture, serving smallholders

In the agricultural sector, the Foundation has continued to train hundreds of small farmers across the country. The “School Lab” initiative has introduced new environmentally friendly agricultural practices. Meanwhile, pilot projects have been launched to optimize water management and enhance adaptation to climate change.

Entrepreneurship and economic inclusion at the heart of action

Supporting local initiatives also means fostering the creation of economic value. Cooperatives have benefited from funding and technical support. Regional incubators have enabled the emergence of projects led by young people or women in rural areas, particularly in the fields of crafts, digital technology, and cooperative management.

Proximity governance and co-constructed projects

What distinguishes the Foundation’s action in 2024 is its clear choice to work with the territories. Each project arises from a participatory diagnosis and is part of a dynamic of consultation with local authorities, associations, and residents. This method has allowed for the realization of structuring projects in the regions of Béni Mellal-Khénifra, Drâa-Tafilalet, and Guelmim-Oued Noun, particularly in the rehabilitation of public spaces or the creation of cultural centers.

In a world seeking sustainable solutions, the OCP Foundation demonstrates that change comes through proximity, consultation, and knowledge sharing. An inspiring vision, reflecting its model of inclusive development.
