Moroccan fertilizer sales to India are experiencing a spectacular surge. In the first seven months of 2025, they reached $578 million, or approximately 5.9 billion dirhams, according to data from the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry. This figure marks an increase of 2.1 times compared to the same period in 2024, confirming the Kingdom’s position among the top three suppliers to the Indian market.

The ranking is led by Russia, with exports amounting to $1.3 billion (13.2 billion dirhams), followed by Saudi Arabia with $885 million (9 billion dirhams). Morocco rounds out the top trio, surpassing other major players in the sector due to the rise in its exports.

For Rabat, this breakthrough is strategic: India remains a key market for phosphates and their derivatives, a pillar of the Moroccan economy. Indian demand, boosted by the need to support its agriculture, continues to grow, providing Morocco with an opportunity to solidify its role as an essential supplier.
