Morocco and Andalusia are strengthening their collaboration in the field of energy transition and sustainable development, with a focus on clean energy, green hydrogen, and natural resource management, according to Rodrigo Rodríguez Hans, Vice President of Prodetur (Seville Provincial Council).
Mr. Rodríguez Hans emphasized that geographical proximity and the complementarity of resources make Morocco a natural partner for Andalusia, opening promising opportunities for technology and environmental companies in both regions. The Provincial Council of Seville is particularly active in promoting joint projects, especially in the solar energy and green hydrogen sectors.
The province of Seville stands out for its energy dynamism: 90.6% of its installed electrical capacity now comes from renewable sources, accounting for nearly a quarter of Andalusia’s total. Key projects include the green hydrogen plant at the Port of Seville, the solar thermal power station of Heineken, and the HGreen La Isla plant in Dos Hermanas, illustrating a sustainable development model that generates skilled jobs and social stability.
The Vice President of Prodetur finally stressed the importance of increased exchanges between the two shores of the Mediterranean, in order to position the region as a reference hub for ecological transition and green growth.
