Stellantis Morocco announces the entry of Leapmotor, the Chinese manufacturer specializing in smart electric vehicles, into the Moroccan market. Founded in 2015 by Jiangming Zhu, a visionary entrepreneur in the high-tech sector, Leapmotor quickly established itself in China, selling over 600,000 100% electric vehicles in less than ten years. By 2025, the brand aims for 500,000 annual sales.

This market entry is part of a strategic alliance with Stellantis, which provides its infrastructure, distribution network, and quality standards. Thanks to this partnership, Leapmotor gains a significant competitive advantage internationally by combining advanced technology, accessible innovation, and customer proximity.

    ### The REEV Technology for Constraint-Free Driving

At the heart of Leapmotor’s innovation, the REEV (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle) technology transforms the electric driving experience. This intelligent system uses a thermal engine solely to recharge the battery, without powering the wheels, ensuring a 100% electric ride while eliminating range anxiety—a major barrier to the adoption of electric vehicles in Morocco.

In a country undergoing an energy transition, where the charging infrastructure is still developing, this technology offers a pragmatic solution tailored to Moroccan drivers’ needs, balancing energy efficiency, usage flexibility, and affordability.

    ### Public Debut at Auto Expo 2025

Moroccans will be able to preview Leapmotor and its innovations at the Auto Expo 2025, dedicated to hybrid and electric vehicles, which will take place from September 18 to 28 at Anfa-Park, Casablanca.

Leapmotor plans to progressively strengthen its presence in Morocco, with a strong commitment to quality, accessibility, and service, aiming to meet long-term market expectations. The brand’s distribution will be managed by Sopriam, Stellantis Morocco’s dedicated retail network.

With Leapmotor, Stellantis Morocco enriches its portfolio of innovative brands and reaffirms its support for the transition to cleaner, more sustainable, and inclusive mobility in the Kingdom.
