OCP Nutricrops, OCP Green Water, and INNOVX signed two agreements in Casablanca aimed at valorizing captured carbon dioxide at the Jorf Lasfar industrial platform. Starting in 2027, the collected CO₂ will power both desalination projects by OCP Green Water and agricultural and industrial applications developed by INNOVX, thereby becoming a new resource for the national industry.
The agreement with OCP Green Water includes the use of CO₂ for pH adjustment and water remineralization, contributing to a reliable and sustainable resource for domestic, agricultural, and industrial uses. This project is part of the OCP group’s green program, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2040 and renewable energy supply starting in 2027.
The partnership with INNOVX will harness CO₂ as an input for green fertilizer production and the development of low-carbon co-products, integrating innovation and sustainability into the industrial chain. Leaders from both entities emphasize that these initiatives enhance food security, support multiple industrial sectors, and position captured CO₂ as a strategic resource for Morocco.
