    Hassan II Prize for the Environment: Launch of applications for the 15th edition

    The Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development announces the opening of applications for the 15th edition of the Hassan II Prize for the Environment. This award recognizes innovative initiatives and projects in favor of environmental protection and sustainable development in Morocco.

    Six categories to promote environmental commitment

    The Hassan II Prize for the Environment honors various actors engaged in ecological transition, divided into six categories:

    • Scientific and Technical Research Prize: rewards innovative work in environmental protection and sustainable resource management.
    • Media Prize: distinguishes journalistic and audiovisual productions that have contributed to environmental awareness.
    • Associative Action Prize: values the initiatives of associations engaged in environmental education and improving living conditions.
    • Corporate Initiatives Prize: highlights companies integrating eco-responsible practices and social responsibility into their management.
    • Local Authorities Initiatives Prize: rewards sustainable projects led by municipalities and regions.
    • Exemplarity of Administration Prize: distinguishes the efforts of public administrations in sustainable management and adopting environmentally friendly practices.

    A grant of 450,000 DH to reward excellence

    The first three categories (scientific research, media, and associative action) benefit from a financial prize of 150,000 DH each. As for the awarded companies, local authorities, and administrations, they will receive a trophy and a certificate of merit in recognition of their commitment.

    Who can participate?

    The competition is open to all actors involved in environmental protection, provided they meet certain conditions:

    • Must not be a jury member.
    • Present an original work that has not been awarded in a similar competition.
    • Exclude projects carried out as part of a paid service.
    • Respect a four-year period before reapplying for former laureates.

    Application procedures and deadline

    Participants must submit a complete file including:

    • A duly completed application form.
    • A copy of the submitted work.
    • A declaration on honor.
    • Various supporting documents (identity card, CV, etc.).

    Files must be submitted before April 30, 2025, either by registered mail or directly to the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development – Department of Sustainable Development, in Rabat.
