Opportunities for cooperation and investment in renewable energy in Africa were, on Tuesday in Casablanca, at the heart of the work of the African meetings organized by the national federation of electricity, electronics, and renewable energies (FENELEC).
Marked by the participation of a panel of experts and African professionals in the sector, these meetings provided an opportunity to shed light on African energy integration and the financing and investment mechanisms in energy infrastructures, in collaboration with regional and international financial institutions.
On this occasion, the president of FENELEC, Ali El Harti, indicated that these meetings aim to support the development of the African electricity sector in a collaborative approach.
“Many initiatives will be implemented to strengthen cooperation and promote fruitful exchanges,” Mr. El Harti stated, emphasizing the importance of concerted action to fully exploit the continent’s potential.
He noted that this event was an opportunity to present the roadmap of FENELEC’s export program, with a particular focus on the African Electricity Confederation (CAFELEC) exhibition, which will be held in Dakar from July 1 to 3.
In this regard, African delegations presented major ongoing projects in their respective countries and highlighted partnership opportunities in the electricity and renewable energy sectors, particularly solar, wind, and green hydrogen energy.
These meetings were marked by in-depth discussions and presentations on strategic themes, particularly focusing on strengthening partnerships between African countries in the electricity and renewable energy sectors.
African energy integration was also on the agenda with a focus on structuring projects such as the electrical interconnection between Morocco and Mauritania.
The event represents a key step in consolidating South-South partnerships and paves the way for enhanced cooperation to ensure the continent’s energy sovereignty.
