In a context where environmental issues are central, the greening of the logistics sector and the adoption of green logistics practices have become imperatives for companies. These initiatives aim to meet environmental standards, enhance the competitiveness of businesses, and promote sustainable and lasting development.

Green logistics, which aims to minimize the ecological impacts of logistics activities, is emerging as an essential trend. Companies that delay integrating sustainability criteria into their operations risk facing difficulties in the future, jeopardizing their access to national and international business activities.

Ngô Khac Lê, Deputy Secretary-General of the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA), emphasizes the importance of raising awareness and understanding the requirements of green logistics, particularly among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). He stresses the need to adapt green logistics solutions to each company and industry.

To promote green logistics in Vietnam, he proposes communication campaigns supported by the government and management agencies, as well as measures to enhance the efficiency of inland waterways and maritime transport to reduce vehicle emissions.

Ngô Khac Lê also highlights the importance for national companies to innovate, be creative, and engage in digital transformation to adopt green and smart logistics in their import-export operations.

This transition to green logistics is not only a local necessity but also a global trend. Vietnamese companies, especially SMEs, must take proactive measures to strengthen their competitiveness and footprint in foreign business communities, thereby contributing to more sustainable and global development.
