Moroccan exports of fertilizers to India continue their impressive climb. In the first seven months of 2025, they reached $578 million—nearly 5.9 billion dirhams—according to figures from the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry. This marks an increase of over 110% compared to the same period last year.
This growth has secured Morocco a solid position among the top three fertilizer suppliers to India. Russia remains the leading supplier with $1.3 billion in sales, followed by Saudi Arabia at $885 million. The kingdom holds the third position, underscoring the rising strength of its phosphate and related industries in an increasingly competitive global market.
India, which heavily relies on external supplies of fertilizers for its agriculture, has long been a strategic partner for Morocco. The demand remains robust, driven by the need to secure agricultural production amid a constantly growing population. For the Moroccan economy, these figures reflect both the strength of the phosphate sector and the kingdom’s crucial role in global food security.
