The Azura Group has been awarded the Climate Trophy 2025 in the Agriculture category, a distinction that highlights the measurable and sustainable impact of its actions against climate change. The award, presented by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, the Wilaya, the Council of the Souss-Massa Region, and the local CGEM, resulted from a strict evaluation process regarding the group’s environmental impact. Azura also received the “Morocco Sustain Food Standard” level 3, the highest tier of the framework developed by the FAO, EBRD, and Morocco Foodex, presented by the Minister of Agriculture. This label recognizes exemplary practices implemented at the Agadir and Dakhla sites, particularly in sustainable management and resource optimization. For over three decades, the group has placed environmental preservation at the core of its agricultural model, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, managing water consumption, repurposing waste, and protecting biodiversity. Since 2022, Azura has committed to the Science-Based Targets initiative, having validated ambitious emissions reduction goals in line with the Paris Agreement to keep warming to +1.5 °C. Its production model relies on unheated greenhouses that leverage natural sunlight, significantly limiting the carbon footprint. The group also implements advanced water management, utilizing desalination and precision irrigation, a move that has earned it the Alliance for Water Stewardship certification, a first in Morocco. These successive recognitions solidify Azura’s position as a key player in ecological transition and affirm its role as a pioneer in promoting responsible agriculture that addresses environmental and territorial challenges.
