Morocco has sufficient solar and wind potential to cover up to half of the electricity consumption of the European Union on its own. For the first time in Morocco, the World Environment Cleanup Day resonated in Khenifra, at the Aguelmame Ouiouane National Park. OCP Nutricrops, OCP Green Water, and INNOVX signed two agreements in Casablanca aimed at valorizing captured carbon dioxide at the Jorf Lasfar industrial platform. Starting in 2027, the collected CO₂ will power both desalination projects by OCP Green Water and agricultural and industrial applications developed by INNOVX, thereby becoming a new resource for the national industry. The Finnish group Wärtsilä has signed a five-year contract with Boto SA, a subsidiary of Moroccan company Managem, to ensure the operation and maintenance of a 23 MW power plant intended for the gold project in Boto, in eastern Senegal.
