The Cité des métiers et des compétences de Rabat-Salé-Kénitra hosted the closing ceremony of the training program on industrial waste management, initiated by UNIDO and OFPPT, in partnership with Japan. Chaired by Loubna Tricha, Director General of OFPPT, and Sanae Lahlou, UNIDO representative in Morocco, the ceremony highlighted the results of this project focused on smokeless incineration waste management, an advanced Japanese technology.

Between May and June 2025, 130 trainees from QHSE and Industrial Engineering fields participated in a program combining theoretical courses and practical training at ECOES SARL in Skhirat. Four trainers were also trained in Japan to ensure the sustainability of the skills transfer.

This program, in which 60% of beneficiaries are women, enabled participants to acquire skills in handling industrial and medical waste while integrating the principles of circular economy and sustainable development. Participants emphasized the value of combining practical and theoretical components to enhance their employability and improve local industrial practices.

According to officials, this initiative is part of an ongoing international cooperation dynamic and the expanding portfolio of OFPPT programs, which include wastewater management, the development of transversal skills, and digital training. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates to the trainees, symbolizing the success and achievement of the participants.
