The second phase of the third edition of the “Green Schools” program was launched on Monday in Casablanca, benefiting the remaining 22 primary schools to instill awareness about the importance of cleanliness and ecological responsibility among students.
According to a joint statement from the Casablanca Municipality and SDL Casa Baia, this phase will be marked by the inclusion of two charitable associations in the program, which are also set to benefit from the program’s activities. This initiative aims to broaden the scope of the project and promote values of solidarity and inclusion by involving stakeholders from different sectors of Casablanca’s social fabric.
In this edition, 48 public primary schools and two associations will benefit from the installation of 812 dual-stream recycling bins, averaging 16 per institution. Additionally, educational panels illustrating the correct behaviors for responsible waste management will also be set up to raise awareness among students about the importance of cleanliness in various school environments.
The program includes a series of educational and awareness activities, such as workshops using a 3D model to replicate the waste journey from neighborhoods to the landfill, the distribution of educational capsules titled “Learn with SAGA Nassouh” focusing on waste and hygiene, and interactive activities centered on sorting and cleanliness professions.
This edition will also feature a reward system to encourage student participation, allowing them to receive the symbolic title of “Cleanliness Ambassadors,” as well as comic books and certificates of recognition awarded to participating schools.
Through this program, the Casablanca Municipality reaffirms its commitment to creating a sustainable environmental dynamic within schools, helping to cultivate a generation aware of the importance of cleanliness, capable of adopting eco-citizen behaviors to preserve the city’s beauty, in line with the objectives of the “Casa Nqiya” campaign aimed at building a clean, smart, and sustainable city, concludes the statement.
