The global mobility and urban services platform, inDrive, has successfully distributed 1,000 helmets in four major Moroccan cities (Casablanca, Marrakech, Tangier, and Agadir) as part of its ongoing efforts to improve road safety and support its growing community of motorcycle drivers.
This initiative is part of a comprehensive approach aimed at strengthening safety standards in transportation and encouraging responsible driving on a national scale, according to a statement from inDrive.
The safety campaign took place in two phases, from March 11 to May 21. The helmets were allocated based on driver performance, with distribution in Casablanca (500 helmets), Tangier (200), Agadir (200), and Marrakech (100).
The operation primarily targeted the top-performing drivers to recognize their efforts and ensure better safety for both them and their passengers.
The motorcycle taxi service is experiencing rapid growth among inDrive’s activities in Morocco. Since the beginning of 2025, the Moto category has seen a notable increase, rising from 6% to 9.5% of all rides completed on the platform in May. Marrakech currently leads in terms of ride volume, followed by Agadir and Casablanca.
“We are currently operating the Moto service in six Moroccan cities,” explained Anas Taoussi, Head of Driver Operations at inDrive Morocco, as quoted in the statement.
He added, “This growth reflects a strong demand for transport solutions that are both affordable and efficient — and we are committed to supporting this development under the best safety conditions.”
inDrive’s Moto service allows drivers to transport passengers while freely negotiating the fare through the platform. inDrive was the first company to introduce this innovative model in Morocco, with an initial launch two years ago in Marrakech, followed by Tangier and Agadir.
In parallel with its safety initiatives, inDrive continues to recognize the commitment of its driver community.
On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, the company organized a special contest for the best drivers in the country. Winners were rewarded with bonuses, e-vouchers for their rides, and an exclusive dinner at a luxury restaurant in Casablanca.
“At inDrive, we believe in recognizing and appreciating the people who make our platform thrive,” said Mr. Taoussi. “Whether through initiatives like helmet distribution or festive moments, our commitment is clear: to build a supportive, valued, and motivated community of drivers.”
These actions illustrate inDrive’s commitment not only to road safety but also to the sustainable relationship it maintains with its drivers — through recognition, support, and the continuous appreciation of their work.
