On the Rabat-Casablanca highway, just after the Bouznika toll, Vivo Energy Morocco has unveiled Shell Al Jazira, a cutting-edge service station that redefines industry standards. Designed as a true living space, it combines contemporary design, an enhanced service offering, and state-of-the-art eco-friendly technologies, all certified High Environmental Quality (HQE) at the “Excellent” level, a first in Africa for this type of infrastructure.

With over 1,000 m² of covered space and 250 seating places, this station embodies a new vision of hospitality on major highways. It has been designed to offer travelers a comfortable break in a soothing environment where nature is integrated into the architecture and layout. Visitors will find diverse dining options, a continuously open boutique area, a Shell Helix maintenance center, as well as an automated car wash.

But the major innovation lies in the introduction of Shell Recharge, the first fast charging device for electric vehicles from the Shell brand in Africa, launched as part of the Vivo Energy network. This infrastructure concretely illustrates the group’s commitment to greener mobility.

The environmental performance of Shell Al Jazira goes well beyond appearances. Equipped with bifacial solar panels with a capacity of 122 KWc, integrated into the building itself, the station produces its own electricity, covering the site’s needs while reducing its carbon footprint. In terms of water management, it is equipped with an efficient treatment system capable of recycling up to 70 m³ of wastewater per day, which is then reused for sanitation and irrigation. Even materials from deconstruction have been repurposed, including 440 tons of concrete, and a rigorous waste sorting system has been implemented to close the loop of the circular economy.

The customer experience has not been overlooked. Vivo Energy Morocco has rethought the space by incorporating play areas for children—both indoors and outdoors—as well as warm relaxation zones with modern furniture. AdBlue stations and payment facilities complete this offering designed for all user profiles.

“This station illustrates our ambition to support the national dynamic of sustainable development by investing in high-quality infrastructure. It also symbolizes our contribution to the country’s energy transition while meeting the demands of a clientele increasingly attentive to environmental impact and service quality,” says Matthias de Larminat, General Director of Vivo Energy Morocco.

This achievement confirms Vivo Energy Morocco’s commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation in the oil sector and offering increasingly responsible and efficient services, in line with Morocco’s challenges by 2030.
