On Sunday, September 14, 2025, Dar Bouazza will host the second edition of the Foulées Solidaires, a 5 and 10 km walk/run open to everyone, organized by the association Noujoum and Servier Morocco, with the support of the Moroccan Society of Pediatric Hemato-Oncology (SMHOP). The aim is to mobilize the general public in support of children with cancer.
The event is part of the Morocco September Gold Movement (MMSOR), which echoes the international campaign Gold September. This movement aims to raise awareness of pediatric cancer, promote early detection, and collect funds to improve care for sick children.
Every year, nearly 1,300 children develop cancer in Morocco, but barely half receive a timely diagnosis. By bringing together families, athletes, doctors, and businesses around a shared spirit of solidarity, the Foulées Solidaires aim to break the taboo and increase the chances of healing through better prevention and enhanced support.
A Committed Citizen Mobilization
Founded in 2003, the association Noujoum provides material, psychological, and educational support to children with cancer, notably through activities in the hospitals of Casablanca and Marrakech, tailored educational programs, and lodging facilities for families.
Meanwhile, Servier Morocco, present in the Kingdom since 1996, reaffirms its societal commitment through consistent support for the MMSOR and solidarity initiatives. In addition to its work in the medical field, the laboratory also finances structural projects for vulnerable populations, such as the creation of a second-chance school in Nouaceur and the construction of an emergency college in Timinkar following the 2023 earthquake.
The organizers hope that this second edition will gather even more participants to turn every step into hope for sick children.
