In this context, the Orange Foundation Morocco has strengthened its strategic partnership with the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports to expand its program “Digital Schools.” For the 2024-2025 school year, the program will thus be extended to 55 new primary schools in rural areas under the Ministry of National Education. 17,000 students from 11 cities in the regions of Al Haouz, Al Hoceima, Berkane, Fahs Anjra, Mdiq Fnideq, Nador, Tanger Assilah, Tetouan, Errachidia, Guelmim, and Laâyoune will benefit from this digital system.
The Digital School is one of the flagship programs for digital and social inclusion of the Orange Foundation Morocco. It consists of providing digital equipment as well as applications and digitized content for the benefit of primary schools in rural areas. Since its launch in Morocco in 2022, the system has contributed to the digitization of 16 rural schools in Ouazzane, Taourirt, Sidi Bennour, Skhirat – Témara, and Dakhla, benefiting over 4,000 students and 30 teachers trained in the program. Developed in 17 African countries, the program now covers more than 1,400 schools on the continent and benefits over 500,000 students.

A positive impact on the beneficiary students
To measure the impact of the “Digital Schools” program on student learning in Morocco, a study was conducted by the Orange Foundation Morocco on a sample of 475 students from rural schools benefiting from the program. The results show positive behavioral changes such as increased curiosity, autonomy, and creativity among students, in addition to the development of interaction between students and teachers and teamwork.
These advancements are partly due to the applications and digitized content specially designed for this program, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education. These tools, available in French and Arabic, make learning more enjoyable and effective.
These developments reinforce the Orange Foundation’s commitment to continue and enhance the “Digital Schools” program through the renewal and strengthening of the strategic partnership with the Ministry of National Education.
