In line with the Royal High Directives, the committee reviewed the progress of the various projects related to the operationalization of “Morocco’s Offer” for green hydrogen. The committee discussed the methodology that will be adopted for the evaluation and selection of projects, through a precise definition of the criteria.
During this meeting, which comes less than six months after the publication of the circular from the Head of Government regarding the implementation of “Morocco’s Offer” for the development of the green hydrogen sector, it was emphasized that the platform set up by the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (MASEN) has received nearly 40 project requests so far, confirming the strong interest and effective interaction of national investors and major international operators in the energy sector for “Morocco’s Offer,” which is considered competitive, integrated, transparent, and practical. It is worth noting that this interest shown by investors spans various regions of the Kingdom, from northern Morocco to its southern provinces.
In this context, the State had undertaken, in accordance with the Royal High Directives, to define significant public land of approximately 1 million hectares, in order to encourage and support project holders and to develop this promising sector, while ensuring, within a contractual framework, the preservation and proper use of this public land base.
