The 2025 edition of the “Key-The Energy Transition Expo,” which concluded on Friday at the Rimini Exhibition Center in Italy, is “the most important ever organized,” recording “record results,” according to the organizers of this flagship event of the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) in Europe, Africa, and the Mediterranean basin.
The Expo, which highlights energy transition and efficiency, recorded an attendance increase of over 20% compared to the 2024 edition, with +40% coming from abroad. It also saw participation from over 1,000 exhibitors (+30% from abroad) across 20 pavilions covering 90,000 m2 of space, along with new focuses dedicated to ports and hydrogen, as stated by the same source.
This new edition, organized in collaboration with Hannover Fairs International (HFI), the Italian subsidiary of Deutsche Messe AG, was covered by approximately 400 accredited journalists from Italy and around the world, according to the organizers, who noted that 350 professionals and delegations from 50 countries attended the Expo.
During three intense days of business, networking, and dialogue to accelerate decarbonization policies and achieve a sustainable future, the Expo “transformed the Exhibition Center into the beating heart of energy transition and efficiency. A place where, between innovative solutions and cutting-edge technologies, the global community of the sector began to rethink the future of energy.”
More than 160 events, conferences, and workshops with the participation of experts, academics, researchers, and representatives from the associative and business worlds provided opportunities to discuss and analyze all aspects related to innovation and the development of the energy market in depth.
Inaugurated last Wednesday by the Italian Minister of Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, this new edition was a unique opportunity for companies and professionals in the sector to discover current and future solutions to ensure energy security, control energy costs, and strengthen the competitiveness of the industrial fabric.
The Expo also facilitated meetings and dialogue with institutional representatives to promote efficiency as the best way forward to meet the global challenge of decarbonization.
With the Innovation District and the 2nd edition of the “Lorenzo Cagnoni” Award, “Key-The Energy Transition Expo” demonstrated strong support for innovation. With the Green Jobs & Skills initiative, it has been extended to the new green and sustainable skills that are still lacking in companies, but in which it is increasingly necessary to invest to succeed in the energy transition, according to the organizers, who also announced that the next edition will take place at the Rimini Exhibition Center from March 4 to 6, 2026.
