    The 19th World Water Congress in Marrakech in less than a year, in December 2025.

    In less than a year, Marrakech will host the XIXth World Water Congress, a major event bringing together experts, policymakers, researchers, private sector actors, as well as local and international organizations. This congress, which will take place from December 1 to 5, 2025, is organized by the Ministry of Equipment and Water of Morocco in collaboration with the International Water Resources Association (IWRA).

    A theme supporting innovation and adaptation

    Under the theme “Water in a Changing World: Innovation and Adaptation”, this meeting aims to address global water-related challenges while exploring opportunities in governance, sustainability, and innovation.

    This event aims to:

    • Facilitate exchanges on best practices and innovative ideas;
    • Highlight pioneering research and technical solutions;
    • Create intersectoral and interdisciplinary partnerships;
    • Promote concrete solutions for effective and sustainable water governance.

    Crucial themes at the heart of discussions

    The congress will revolve around seven major sub-themes:

    1. Water Governance: Planning, financing, and management in a context of uncertainty.
    2. Water-Energy-Agriculture-Ecosystems Nexus: The essential links between these sectors.
    3. Water Security and management of associated risks.
    4. Innovation for a Smart Water Future: Tomorrow’s technological solutions.
    5. Groundwater: Identifying challenges and leveraging opportunities.
    6. Water for Sustainable Development: A resource in service of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
    7. Water Quality: Global health and new perspectives.
