The reservoirs of the large dams located in the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region have reached over 876 million m³, indicates the General Directorate of Water, under the Ministry of Equipment and Water, on Monday.

The reservoirs of these dams, which have a capacity exceeding 1.721 billion m³, have been established, to date, at 876.37 million m³, representing a filling rate of 45.87%, compared to approximately 669.98 million m³ during the same period last year (38.91%), specifies a report from the Directorate.

In the Loukkos area, the reservoirs of the Oued El Makhazine dam (Larache province), the largest dam in the region, have reached 466.2 million m³, which corresponds to a filling rate of about 69.29%, while the reservoirs of the Dar Khrofa dam have been established at 74.7 million m³ (15.55%).

Regarding the reservoirs of the April 9 dam (Tanger-Assilah prefecture), they have risen to 63.54 million m³, representing a filling rate of 21.18%, while this rate has reached 40.79% (11.88 million m³) at the Ibn Battouta dam.

In the Tétouan province, the El Kharroub dam has reached a filling rate of 49.20% (92.86 million m³), the Nakhla dam has reached a filling rate of 39.57% (1.67 million m³), while the Acharif Al Idrissi dam recorded a filling rate of 81.22% (98.81 million m³).

In the M’diq-Fnideq prefecture, the Smir dam recorded a filling rate of 74.57% (29.04 million m³), while the Moulay El Hassan Ben El Mahdi dam, located in the Fahs-Anjra province, recorded a filling rate of 47.67% (11.17 million m³).

The report also notes that the Tanger Mediterranean dam in the Fahs-Anjra province has reached a filling rate of 65.74% (14.48 million m³), while this rate has reached 14.77% (1.74 million m³) for the Abdelkrim Al Khattabi dam in the Al Hoceima province.

Furthermore, the Chefchaouen dam has reached a filling rate of 80.68% (9.88 million m³), while the reservoirs of the Joumoua dam (Al Hoceima province) have reached 0.41 million m³ (7.99%).

It should be noted that the reservoirs of dams in Morocco have reached, to date, 4,796.27 million m³, representing a filling rate of approximately 28.48%.
