Morocco is ramping up its efforts in responsible tourism. The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) has just finalized a strategic partnership in Rabat with Intrepid Travel, a global leader in sustainable adventure travel, aiming to attract up to 200,000 visitors per year by 2031.

The signing of the memorandum of understanding took place at the Australian Embassy, in the presence of His Excellency Damien Donovan. This agreement, which will cover the period from 2026 to 2031, reflects a clear ambition: to make the Kingdom a global reference for travelers seeking authenticity, environmental respect, and immersive experiences.

The initiative specifically targets the Australian, New Zealand, and North American markets, known for their affinity for adventure tourism and cultural discovery. For ONMT, this partnership serves as a strategic lever to diversify offerings and strengthen Morocco’s position among preferred long-haul destinations.
