A leading global player in the phosphate and fertilizer industry, the OCP group, committed to research and innovation, is participating in the 17th International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM).

In this sense, the OCP group, which aims to meet the dual challenge of sustainability and global food security, offers an integrated model based on science, innovation, industrial expertise, digitalization, technology, and community support.

Its presence at SIAM revolves around four strong themes: preserving soil health, optimizing water use, sequestering carbon, and supporting the women and men who carry agriculture on a daily basis.

These themes reflect a concrete vision of a group that acts, through several complementary levers and entities that work in synergy, towards a common goal: a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable agriculture in Morocco, Africa, and the world.

OCP, pioneer of soil health: an agricultural transition underway

In the face of growing challenges of food security and climate change, the OCP Group, a global leader in plant nutrition solutions, places soil health at the heart of its strategy.

By combining scientific innovation, cutting-edge technologies, and international partnerships, OCP is committed to transforming agriculture into a lever for sustainability and prosperity.

Thus, OCP adopts a holistic strategy, tailored to each crop and territory, and highlights the 4Rs approach to fertilization (Right Source, Right Rate, Right Time, Right Place), which aims for reasoned and sustainable fertilization that optimizes agricultural yields while reducing environmental impact.

Innovative technologies for sustainable water management

In the face of a critical scarcity of water resources, OCP Green Water (OGW), a subsidiary of the OCP Group, establishes itself as a key player in Morocco’s water sovereignty.

Founded in 2022, OGW is now the national pioneer in the production of unconventional source waters, combining seawater desalination and wastewater treatment, within a framework of circular economy and territorial impact.

In just four years, OCP Green Water has developed a unique model based on fast-track project management, cutting-edge technologies, and 100% integrated management to set up water production units and treatment plants.

Making carbon an ally for the climate and farmers

Through the Tourba project, a pioneer in Carbon Farming in Morocco, the OCP Group also explores the potential of conservation agriculture and Carbon Farming to restore soil health and sequester carbon.

At the forefront of these developments that reconcile productivity and climate, OCP is thus committed to this path for the production and democratization of Carbon Farming solutions in Morocco, Africa, and beyond.

Thanks to Tourba, over 2,000 Moroccan farmers are engaged in Carbon Farming and conservation agriculture programs.

Ambition by 2030: cover 6 million hectares in Africa and South America with a goal of sequestering 7 million tons of CO2 per year.

These initiatives are also supported by Al Moutmir, an initiative that promotes and democratizes conservation agriculture based on techniques such as direct seeding, crop rotation, and diversification of crops.

Humanity at the heart of agricultural transformation

The OCP Group has structured, for more than a decade, an impact strategy based on four pillars: training, inclusion, territorial anchoring, and entrepreneurship.

This ambition permeates the Group’s actions both in Morocco and in Africa and is reflected in complementary mechanisms, supported by various entities and institutions of the Group (UM6P, OCP Foundation, Phosboucraa Foundation, OCP Africa, INNOVX), and rooted in local dynamics.

    Social engineering & industrial development

OCP invests in industrial anchoring with a strong territorial impact, through the SP2M program, which combines the development of production platforms and job creation. More than 20,000 direct jobs have been generated in Mzinda (Safi) and Meskala (Essaouira), around low-carbon industrial ecosystems focused on fertilization, by-products, and local resource valorization. Aiming to significantly strengthen the Group’s production capacities in phosphates and fertilizers, the SP2M program prioritizes impact and social innovation.
