Saint-Gobain Sekurit Morocco and Wind Energy of Morocco (EEM), a subsidiary of the Nareva Group, announce the signing of a strategic agreement for the supply of wind electricity to the production site in Kenitra. This contract, lasting 20 years, will guarantee the supply of 35 GWh of electricity per year, thus covering 90% of the energy needs of the site and reducing CO₂ emissions by 25,000 tons each year.

A strong commitment to the energy transition

The agreement was signed by Gilles Abensour, CEO of Saint-Gobain Morocco, Benoît Bourrier, General Director of Saint-Gobain Sekurit Morocco, and Adil Khamis, General Director of EEM. It marks a major advancement in the decarbonization strategy of the group in Morocco and meets the growing demands of customers for responsible and sustainable production.

Towards 100% green electricity by 2025

Beyond this wind agreement, Saint-Gobain Morocco plans to install solar panels on the roofs of its Kenitra site by summer 2025, thus increasing the share of green electricity consumed to 95%.

This initiative is part of Saint-Gobain’s commitments aiming for net zero carbon emissions by 2050 and actively contributes to the development of a low-carbon economy in Morocco.
