Casablanca, November 13, 2024 – RED, a leader in trade marketing and retail expert in Morocco, founded and led by entrepreneur Zoubir Fassi Fihri, announces the launch of Be Green, an innovative recycling application designed to simplify and encourage waste sorting among the general public and businesses. With Be Green, Zoubir Fassi Fihri and his team aim to mobilize Moroccans around the circular economy, offering everyone a fun, accessible, and incentivizing solution to actively participate in environmental protection.

Be Green: a recycling application for all citizens

Quietly launched in November 2023, Be Green is a free mobile application that allows individuals to identify the packaging they wish to recycle, locate collection points via an interactive map, and drop off their waste. As a reward, users earn points that can be exchanged for benefits at partner stores (Shana, Bio Pour Bébés, Campus Sport…). With over 200 partner collection points in Casablanca, Marrakech, and soon in other Moroccan cities, Be Green aims to encourage as many people as possible to adopt sustainable behaviors for a greener Morocco.

Be Green Office: a tailored solution for Moroccan businesses

To meet the specific needs of businesses, RED also offers Be Green Office, a recycling solution dedicated to the professional environment. In addition to plastic waste, Be Green Office expands collection to cardboard, metals, and paper. RED installs sorting bins directly in company premises, allowing employees to sort their waste easily and conveniently. Through the Be Green application, employees can track their environmental impact in real-time, motivate themselves through a ranking among colleagues, and see the energy savings and reductions in CO₂ emissions generated by their efforts.

With Be Green Office, companies also benefit from detailed CSR reporting, including energy savings and avoided CO₂ emissions, as well as a recycling guarantee certificate. This transparency allows companies to showcase their ecological commitment to their stakeholders, enhancing their image as responsible actors engaged in environmental protection.

“In the context of our CSR approach aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of our subsidiary, we launched a sorting and recycling program in our cafeteria, in collaboration with the company RED.

Thanks to the Be Green application, installed on the phones of the majority of our staff, we have been able to accurately measure the reduction rate of our CO₂ consumption as well as the energy savings achieved. We are convinced that, like the bird bringing its drop to extinguish the fire, every gesture counts to preserve our planet!” testifies Chaima Ben Yahia, CSR Manager at Yves Rocher Morocco.
