The volume of water reserves in Morocco now stands at 5.12 billion cubic meters, bringing the overall dam filling rate to 30.43%, according to the latest updated data this Tuesday. A slight increase of 0.86% in 24 hours has been recorded, reflecting an additional water supply in a context where water management remains a strategic issue.
A positive development, but persistent challenges
This increase, although modest, reflects the recent water inputs, particularly due to rainfall and efforts to strengthen retention infrastructure. However, despite this encouraging trend, the challenges related to the availability of water resources remain concerning.
Morocco is facing increased water pressure, exacerbated by the effects of climate change and the growing demand for drinking, agricultural, and industrial water. The distribution and use of these strategic reserves require heightened vigilance to avoid any prolonged shortages.
