    Moroccan refrigerated transport is taking a decisive turn towards more sustainable logistics. Petit Forestier, a major player in the rental of refrigerated vehicles, has just announced the launch of the Kingdom’s very first 100% electric heavy truck, dedicated to the cold chain. This national first marks a significant advancement in adapting the logistics sector to environmental challenges.

    A clean, tested, and approved technology

    This next-generation vehicle, tested in real conditions during the last International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM), is now integrated into the distribution routes of Centrale Danone. Equipped with a fully electric engine and refrigeration unit, it ensures delivery with zero local CO₂ emissions, with a total reduction in emissions of up to 70%, depending on the power source. Additionally, it features a drastic reduction in noise pollution, enhanced driving comfort, and a decrease in mechanical waste related to maintenance.

    Adapted to the realities of the Moroccan terrain

    Designed for short to medium-distance urban and suburban trips, the vehicle illustrates the maturity of electric technologies even in environments with strong climatic and logistical constraints. It is concrete proof that the energy transition in the refrigerated transport sector is not only possible but already underway in Morocco.

    A leader anticipating market changes

    Present in Morocco since 2010, Petit Forestier has become the number one in refrigerated vehicle rental, with a fleet exceeding 1,800 units and a network covering more than 24 cities. The launch of this new vehicle is part of the group’s overall strategy, which aims to reduce the carbon footprint of each vehicle by 25% by 2030.

    For Anass Bouzidi, Director of Petit Forestier Morocco, “this national first reflects our commitment to providing concrete solutions to the growing demands of our clients while supporting the Kingdom’s environmental ambitions.” Meanwhile, Cédric Pinto, in charge of sustainable development at Petit Forestier Group, emphasizes the alignment of this innovation with the group’s European strategy and its role in achieving its climate objectives.

    A logistics offer designed for performance

    The vehicle is part of Petit Forestier’s “Full Service” offer, a comprehensive solution aimed at simplifying the logistical management of client companies. This offer includes:

    • personalized support from the definition of needs (vehicle choice, branding, dedicated portal);
    • a turnkey rental including administrative management, insurance, and electric charging solutions;
    • proactive maintenance service, including vehicle and refrigeration unit maintenance, regulatory checks, and 24/7 technical assistance;
    • coverage of unforeseen events, with replacement vehicles, claims management, and rapid restoration.

    Each client benefits from a single point of contact throughout their contract, ensuring responsiveness, reliability, and continuity of service—imperatives in a sector where the cold chain tolerates no breaks.

    Towards a greener Moroccan logistics

    Through this initiative, Petit Forestier places Morocco on the map of pioneering countries in sustainable logistics. The launch of this 100% electric heavy truck demonstrates that it is possible to combine performance, innovation, and environmental responsibility while meeting market demands. A promising trajectory that other players in the sector would do well to follow.
