The National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM) and the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) signed a natural gas transport contract on Monday, which supplies the gas-fired power plants of ONEE through the Maghreb Europe Gas Pipeline (GME).

This agreement formalizes the long-standing collaboration between the two Offices, which led to the commercial commissioning of the “Reverse Flow” in June 2022, a system that allows for the import of liquefied natural gas (LNG) purchased on the international market, unloaded and regasified at Spanish terminals, before being transported to Morocco via the Maghreb-Europe gas pipeline (GME), ONHYM indicated in a statement.

On this occasion, the General Director of ONHYM, Amina Benkhadra, and the General Director of ONEE, Tarik Hamane, “expressed their satisfaction with the ongoing coordination of their respective teams and the quality of service provided by ONHYM, through its subsidiary OMCo,” it concludes.
