    Nexans Morocco launches the second edition of the “Nexans Climate Challenge” competition.

    – An annual innovation meeting organized under the theme “Innovative Technologies: Towards Accelerating the Energy Transition.”

    – Applications for this second edition of the competition are open until June 15, and three new projects will be selected and awarded during the 4th edition of “Climate Day,” the event organized by the Nexans Group.

    **Casablanca, May 15, 2024:** Nexans Morocco is proud to announce the launch of the second edition of the “Nexans Climate Challenge,” which will take place from May 15 to June 15, 2024. Under the theme “Innovative Technologies: Towards Accelerating the Energy Transition,” this competition aims to stimulate the creativity of participants by encouraging them to propose innovative ideas in various fields.

    After a successful first edition, Nexans, in partnership with the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Renewable Energy Cluster, and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University of Benguerir (UM6P), intends to make this competition an annual innovation event.

    **Selma Alami, General Director of Nexans North & West Africa,** stated: *”The Nexans Climate Challenge is fully aligned with the overall strategy of the Nexans group, where sustainability is a top priority. This priority is also an integral part of the national strategy for energy transition launched by Morocco, under the effective leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him. We look forward to discovering innovative ideas and supporting their development for a more sustainable future.”*

    The Nexans Climate Challenge provides a platform for collaboration among academic, research, industry, startup, and civil society actors, thus fostering the exchange of expertise and knowledge for sustainable development.

    Candidates can submit their projects in the following categories: renewable energies, environment and sustainable development, energy services, energy efficiency, sustainable agriculture, and industrial ecology. A panel of experts from Nexans and the energy and climate field will evaluate the projects based on various criteria, including their environmental impact, degree of innovation, economic viability, and feasibility.

    The winners of the “Nexans Climate Challenge” will receive financial support and personalized assistance for the development of their innovations. They will be awarded during the **4th edition of Climate Day, an event organized in Morocco by the Nexans Group, on September 26, 2024.**
