The National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) has recently commissioned two new transformation stations, 225/22 kV, in Skhour Rhamna and Benslimane, with a total investment of nearly 350 million dirhams, as part of the ongoing modernization and expansion of the national electricity transmission network.

The Benslimane station (140 MVA) includes the construction of the 225 kV station and the realization of approximately 37 km of Extra High Voltage lines. It contributes to strengthening the electrical supply of the region and sustainably improves service quality, while increasing the reliability and performance of the network, according to a statement from ONEE.

As for the Skhour Rhamna station (80 MVA), it secures the electrical supply of the Rhamna Province and supports the economic and industrial dynamics around the Benguerir hub. Its connection to the national network, via the lowering of approximately 14 km of a 225 kV line, enhances the flexibility and stability of the national electrical system.

These two facilities enhance the national electrical infrastructure with an additional capacity of 220 MVA, adding to the numerous projects that have been put into operation since the beginning of 2025, confirming the momentum initiated by ONEE to meet the growing demand for electricity and sustainably modernize its electrical infrastructures, the same source continues.

Indeed, since January 2025, several strategic stations and lines have been put into operation or reinforced, representing a total installed power of approximately 1,330 MVA and 264 kilometers of Extra High Voltage lines. This includes the stations of Mghila (70 MVA), Agadir (150 MVA), Fouarat (+150 MVA), Tizgui (+150 MVA), Loukkos (+150 MVA), Ghanem (150 MVA), Laawamar (150 MVA), Guelmim (140 MVA), Skhour Rhamna (80 MVA), and Benslimane (140 MVA).

These achievements reflect ONEE’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the security of electricity supply, supporting regional development, and facilitating the Kingdom’s energy transition and the massive integration of renewable energies, in line with the High Guidelines of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the statement concludes.
