The Moroccan Pavilion at COP29, currently taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan, reflects the leading role that Morocco plays in the fight against climate change. A true platform for exchanges, it highlights the ambitious initiatives of the Kingdom in terms of energy transition and sustainability, while serving as a strategic location to discuss solutions to global climate challenges.

A platform for exchanges and international expertise

The Moroccan Pavilion is designed as a space for dialogue, where national and international experts share their knowledge on topics such as energy efficiency, sustainable agriculture, and water management. It also allows for the examination of crucial issues such as climate financing and adaptation to global changes. By bringing together these key players, the pavilion illustrates Morocco’s dynamism and its ability to propose sustainable models that address contemporary challenges.

Moroccan interventions praised at the High-Level Segment

Aziz Akhannouch, Head of Government, representing His Majesty King Mohammed VI, presented Morocco’s experience in climate adaptation during the High-Level Segment of Heads of State and Government. He emphasized the progress made by the Kingdom in decarbonization, promoting renewable energies, and reducing the carbon footprint, efforts that reflect the strategic vision outlined by His Majesty.

Testimonies on the impact and innovation of Morocco

Participants praised Moroccan expertise. Kholoud Kahime, president of the International Research and Capacity Building Center at Cadi Ayyad University, expressed her satisfaction with the initiatives presented, stating that Morocco is a pioneer in adaptation and energy transition. Karim Anegay, coordinator of IPAM, highlighted the intensity of the pavilion’s program, allowing for the promotion of Moroccan work on an international scale.

An ambitious pathway for a sustainable future

Since hosting COP22 in 2016, Morocco has continued to implement innovative policies. These ongoing efforts have strengthened its positioning as a model in climate and energy fields. As the closure of COP29 approaches, the Moroccan Pavilion continues to mobilize and inspire the attendees, reaffirming the Kingdom’s commitment to enhanced global climate ambition.
