On the occasion of the World Water Day, Morocco highlights the key role of youth in the transition to a smart and resilient water future. Organized on March 21, 2025 in Rabat, this event will bring together institutional actors, experts, and young talents committed to better water management.

A panel dedicated to innovation and new generations

The Ministry of Equipment and Water and the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, in partnership with UNDP, German Cooperation (GIZ), Centre 4C Morocco, and the Belgian Embassy, are organizing a discussion panel on the theme:
“Role of youth in the transition to a smart and resilient water sector future.”

The aim is to highlight the contributions of young researchers and students to innovative solutions addressing challenges related to water resources.

    A competition to reward excellence

A prize ceremony will conclude this event to encourage the best projects and innovative ideas incorporating new technologies for the resilience of the water sector. This competition, initiated ahead of World Water Day, was organized by the two ministries responsible for the sector to stimulate research and youth engagement.

A major appointment for water actors

The event will take place at 9:30 AM at the headquarters of the General Directorate of Hydraulics (DGH) in Rabat and will bring together:
    ✅ Government officials
    ✅ National and international partners
    ✅ Experts and researchers
    ✅ Academic institutions
    ✅ Students and civil society

This mobilization reflects Morocco’s and its partners’ commitment to sustainable water management, integrating young generations at the heart of the solutions of tomorrow.
