Ecological initiatives are multiplying in Moroccan municipalities. From selective waste sorting programs to solar energy projects, cities are gradually committing to a green transition, supported by public and private partnerships.

In Rabat, smart waste collection is expanding to new pilot neighborhoods. In Marrakech, several primary schools are now partially powered by solar energy. In the North, the municipalities of Tetouan and Larache are investing in wastewater management and plastic recycling. These local initiatives contribute to achieving the national sustainability goals set for 2030.

Awareness campaigns launched by the Ministry of Energy Transition encourage citizens to reduce their carbon footprint. Young people play a driving role in these actions, notably through school green clubs and environmental associations.

Sustainable development is becoming a competitive advantage for regions. Companies prefer eco-responsible cities, while ecotourism and sustainable housing projects attract investors. Morocco thus asserts its ambition to combine local development with global sustainability.
