: The International Organization for Migration (IOM) marks a crucial step in the fight against the devastating effects of climate change in Morocco with the launch of an innovative awareness campaign. This initiative aims to shed light on the complex link between migration, environment, and climate change, a major issue for the future of the Kingdom.

Through a series of three impactful video capsules, the IOM highlights the often-unknown realities of millions of Moroccans who are already experiencing the impacts of the climate crisis. These videos do not just tell stories; they call for collective and immediate action to build a resilient future.

Three Video Capsules to Understand and Act

1- “Gender and Climate Migration”: This video explores the disproportionate impact of climate change on women in Morocco, highlighting their essential role in the local economy and their increased vulnerability to environmental challenges. It emphasizes the need for an inclusive approach to strengthen the resilience of women in rural areas.

2 – “Livelihoods and Climate Migration”: This capsule highlights the dramatic consequences of water scarcity and droughts on livelihoods, particularly in rural areas. It shows how these conditions force populations to migrate to urban areas, thus posing new socio-economic challenges for the country.

3 – “Multisectoral Approach and Youth Engagement”: This video underscores the importance of a coordinated response involving various sectors of society, while highlighting the crucial role played by Moroccan youth. It calls for collective mobilization to strengthen resilience against climate change.

Through this action, the IOM aims to raise awareness of the risks related to climate change on populations, especially those deemed vulnerable. It seeks to explain in accessible language the stakes of the climate crisis and its direct and indirect repercussions on Morocco.
