The Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Benguérir hosted, this Tuesday, the first edition of the OCP InnovateX Day, an event entirely dedicated to sustainable industrial innovation. Driven by the ManufacturiX platform of the Strategic Business Unit Manufacturing of the OCP Group, this meeting brought together more than 500 participants from various backgrounds – startups, researchers, industrialists, academic institutions – united by a common goal: to invent the industry of tomorrow.
Designed as a crossroads for exchanges between ideas and technologies, this day highlighted innovative solutions from 35 companies selected from around 2,500 international applications. For OCP, this is a strategic lever aimed at integrating these innovations into the heart of its production chains, while strengthening an ecosystem based on collaboration and collective intelligence.
“Younger generations master technology like never before. Their role is essential in industrial transformation,” emphasized Abdenour Jbili, director of ManufacturiX, praising the particularly present Moroccan creativity during this edition.
The format of InnovateX Day is not limited to a showcase of promising projects. It aims to be a real-world experimentation laboratory, allowing solution providers to test, adapt, and then deploy their innovations in a concrete industrial environment. Panels, presentations, and professional meetings thus marked this first edition.
For Ahmed Mahrou, director of the SBU Manufacturing, this event marks a turning point: “We are no longer just observers; we are becoming a catalyst for sustainable innovation.” The ambition is clear: to make Benguérir a hub where emerging technologies, industrial know-how, and creative youth converge to meet sustainability challenges.
The event is already set to become annual, to continue feeding this virtuous circle between research, industry, and ecological transition.
