The city of Ifrane is preparing to host an international conference on sustainable tourism, bringing together nearly 150 decision-makers, experts, and investors from Morocco and abroad. Located in the heart of the Middle Atlas and surrounded by cedar forests and an iconic national park, the city exemplifies the potential of ecotourism and responsible investment in Morocco.

The event will be organized around three strategic pillars:

    1. Investment in natural parks: exploring mechanisms to support ecotourism, balancing economic growth with ecosystem preservation, and showcasing innovative models for sustainable accommodation.

    2. Tourism in Saharan and oasis areas: highlighting the opportunities and challenges unique to these regions, integrating new technologies, and promoting unique destinations for travelers.

    3. Synergy between tourism and sustainable agriculture: developing agritourism projects, enhancing local and traditional know-how, and establishing hybrid funding to support international cooperation.

Among the speakers are leading figures: Nizar Baraka, Minister of Equipment and Water, Fatim Zohra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social Economy, and Karim Zidane, Minister Delegate in charge of Investment and Public Policy Evaluation, along with representatives from public and private institutions.

This conference represents much more than a mere gathering: it lays the groundwork for a new tourism dynamic in Morocco. The objective is clear: to support the rise of sustainable tourism, stimulate investment in local areas, enhance rural potential, and strengthen public-private cooperation for inclusive and responsible tourism.

For one day, Ifrane thus becomes the national showcase for ecotourism, demonstrating how the preservation of nature, local development, and support for small businesses can converge to build a sustainable model. The initiatives presented will aim to promote responsible investments, create synergies between tourism and agriculture, and enhance natural heritage and local entrepreneurship across the country.
