The president of the National Observatory for Human Development (ONDH), Otmane Gair, emphasized Tuesday in New York that Morocco, in line with the Royal vision of a Social State, is undertaking a profound transformation of its tools for analyzing and monitoring human development.
“This transformation is based on a multidimensional, localized, and forward-looking approach aimed at embedding a results-oriented culture and grounding public action on reliable, measurable data sourced from the field,” Mr. Gair stated during his visit leading an official delegation in the American metropolis, focused on strengthening cooperation between the Observatory and several specialized United Nations agencies.
In this regard, he explained that such an approach serves as an essential lever to ensure the continuous improvement of the impact of public policies.
In this context, the president of the ONDH will hold consultations, particularly with senior officials from the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), the UN Global Pulse initiative, as well as the Office of the Human Development Report.
These consultations primarily address the alignment and methodological harmonization, the enhancement of national data systems, and the strengthening of public policy evaluation capacities, according to a statement from the Observatory.
There is also a focus on exploring new avenues for technical cooperation between the ONDH and specialized UN agencies, particularly in the areas of data governance, conducting social satisfaction surveys, and territorial analysis.
