Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, Representative of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, is participating in the 3rd United Nations Conference on the Ocean, which opened on Monday in Nice.
Co-organized by France and Costa Rica, the 3rd United Nations Conference on the Ocean, which will continue until Friday, brings together more than 50 heads of state and government and over 1,500 delegates from nearly 200 countries.
The inaugural session of the conference was notably marked by opening speeches from the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Costa Rican President Rodrigo Chaves Robles.
Under the theme “Accelerating action and mobilizing all actors to conserve and sustainably use the ocean,” the Nice Conference will scrutinize several aspects related to the oceans, ranging from sustainable fishing to marine pollution, as well as the interactions between climate and biodiversity.
