Gender equity: OCP reaches a new milestone with EDGE Move certification.

The OCP Group has just taken a new step in its commitment to gender equality. After obtaining the EDGE Assess certification in 2022, it has now received the EDGE Move label, a rare distinction in the traditionally male-dominated sectors of chemistry and mining.

A global recognition for concrete commitment

EDGE (Economic Dividends for Gender Equality) is the leading international standard for assessing gender equity within organizations. By achieving the Move level, OCP joins a very select group of companies worldwide that have reached this stage, becoming the only one to do so in the field of plant nutrition solutions. This status reflects the progress made by the group in terms of inclusion in an industrial sector often underrepresented by women.

An inclusion model integrated into internal operations

For Ibtissam Bensetti, Chief Talent & Organizational Development Officer at OCP, this certification confirms that equity is not just an HR project but a structural value: “We want a young graduate joining OCP to know that she will have the same chances as her male colleagues. What will matter are her skills, not her gender.”

Concrete measures at the origin of the transformation

OCP’s journey to EDGE Move is based on several structural initiatives:

    • A systematic monitoring of pay gaps to ensure wage equity.
    • Mentoring and career development programs designed to promote women’s advancement.
    • A parental leave policy more generous than national standards, to support work-life balance.
    • An inclusive leadership that makes equity a shared principle at all levels of responsibility.

Towards a global standard of inclusion

By reaching this level of requirement, OCP reaffirms its commitment to making Africa a benchmark space for inclusive growth. The group now aims to inspire other companies on the continent to fully integrate equity into their operations, to build a corporate culture where everyone, man or woman, has the same opportunities to thrive and lead.
