Madagascar now has a new collaborative tool aimed at strengthening environmental protection efforts. The platform **INDRI Connect**, initiated by the Initiative for Development, Ecological Restoration, and Innovation (INDRI), aims to centralize knowledge and connect the various actors engaged in this mission.
#### A space dedicated to environmental knowledge
In light of the dispersion of studies, reports, and initiatives on the island, INDRI Connect offers a compilation of nearly 300 documents accessible to NGOs, researchers, and concerned citizens. “We noticed that despite decades of studies and projects, these resources remained scattered, making their use complex,” explains Jean-Philippe Palasi, co-founder and director of INDRI. With simple filters, the platform gathers relevant information on various ecosystems, whether terrestrial, marine, or urban.
For example, these resources can guide reforestation projects by providing advice on plant species suitable for each region and soil type.
#### Encouraging collaboration
The platform also offers an **interactive map** listing several hundred organizations active on the ground. This tool facilitates connections between project leaders and local partners. “If you are considering an agroecology project in southern Madagascar, this map will allow you to quickly identify relevant local NGOs and their contact details,” specifies Jean-Philippe Palasi.
#### A wealth mobilized for sustainable projects
With one of the highest densities of NGOs and associations in the world, Madagascar is full of environmental initiatives, but these sometimes lack coordination. INDRI Connect aims to address this issue by providing solid foundations and fostering collaborations, thus preventing each project from starting “from a blank page.”
By registering on the platform, each actor can share their work and information, thereby strengthening the collaborative ecosystem for more effective and sustainable environmental action.
