The kickoff of the Elec Expo, EneR Event, and Tronica Expo 2024, an unmissable event in the energy industry, was given on Wednesday in Casablanca, under the theme “Renewable Energies and Green Hydrogen: Towards the Establishment of an Attractive, Competitive, and Sustainable Ecosystem.”

Organized by the National Federation of Electricity, Electronics, and Renewable Energies (FENELEC), under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, these fairs are respectively in their 17th, 12th, and 11th editions, bringing together major players from the electricity, renewable energy, and electronics sectors.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the fairs, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, emphasized the strategic importance of electrification and electronification in global development.

He also highlighted Morocco’s central role in this transition, thanks to a clear vision and significant investments in renewable energies, positioning the Kingdom as an “energy corridor linking Europe and Africa.”

For her part, the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leïla Benali, emphasized in a video message that Morocco is among the five connector countries globally, thus playing a central role in the reconfiguration of global value chains.

She also pointed out the necessity of developing new industries and services while massively integrating renewable energies into the national electricity grid.

For his part, the president of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Morocco (CGEM), Chakib Alj, highlighted the economic opportunities offered by the energy transition, particularly in terms of job creation and industrial development.

He specified that Morocco, thanks to its natural assets and strategic geographical position, is well-placed to become a regional energy hub.

In turn, the president of FENELEC, Ali El Harti, recalled the strategic importance of these fairs, which illustrate the Kingdom’s commitment to energy transition and sustainable development.

He also welcomed the participation of Mauritania as the guest country, thereby strengthening regional cooperation ties in the energy sector.

Elec Expo, EneR Event, and Tronica Expo 2024, which are in their 17th, 12th, and 11th editions respectively, cover a wide range of sectors, including electricity, electronics, renewable energies, energy efficiency, building, construction, home automation, lighting, and water management.

The 2024 edition, which runs until November 30, hosts more than 160 international companies from various countries, such as Egypt, Italy, Spain, China, Turkey, Belgium, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Poland, and France.

As part of Morocco’s African strategy, these fairs also position themselves as a hub for intra-African cooperation, with the participation of the African Confederation of Electricity (CAFELEC).

This organization brings together 12 African countries, including Niger, Senegal, Togo, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Guinea, Mali, Morocco, and Mauritania, which is the guest country for this edition.

The event offers a rich program, including B2B meetings, conferences, round tables, and exhibitions, thus providing a privileged platform for dialogue and collaboration for participants and visitors. About 10,000 professionals are expected, including architects, real estate developers, engineers, technicians, investors, directors, academics, and consultants.
