Organized until November 22 by the Moroccan Association for the Automotive Industry and Construction (AMICA) and MIE Group, with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, this exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to discover global innovations and new trends in electric vehicles, batteries, charging solutions, and smart mobility.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of this edition, which was attended by Rachid Machou, president of AMICA, and David Wang, president of MIE Group, Mr. Mezzour reminded those present that Morocco and China have had a strategic partnership since His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s visit to China in 2016. The minister emphasized that China is considered by the Kingdom as a key partner in the development of the automotive industry and the electric battery value chain.
He highlighted the exemplary performance of the Chinese industrialists present, who showcased their expertise through their products, technologies, and competitiveness.
Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty the King, has established a production capacity of one million four-wheeled vehicles, as well as 400,000 to 500,000 two- and three-wheeled vehicles, Mr. Mezzour noted, adding that the market is experiencing sustained momentum, with sales expected to reach between 180,000 and 200,000 units this year.
He stressed the profound transformation that Morocco is undergoing and the necessity of building a common understanding of values and technologies to succeed together.
For his part, Wang Shanhua, president of the Jiangsu China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), praised the quality of Sino-Moroccan relations, which remain at a high level.
The Africa EV Mobility Expo, he continued, fits precisely into this strategic cooperation, reflecting a concrete action aimed at sustainably promoting economic and trade exchanges between Morocco and China and moving forward together on the path to development.
Mr. Shanhua also gave an economic presentation of Jiangsu, highlighting the industrial, economic, and trade strengths of this Chinese province and demonstrating its potential for cooperation with Morocco.
He stated that strengthening international cooperation around industrial and supply chains for new energy vehicles and energy storage is not only essential for achieving carbon neutrality objectives but also an effective pathway toward high-quality economic development.
The president of CCPIT Jiangsu also pointed out that Morocco, located at the crossroads of Europe and Africa, benefits from a privileged geographic position.
The Kingdom, he argued, possesses both logistical advantages and natural resources, as well as a forward-looking strategy in new energies and a stable investment environment, which offer considerable synergies with Jiangsu’s ambitions to build a globally influential industrial and technological innovation center, an internationally competitive manufacturing base, and a dual-flow opening platform.
He added, “We wish to synergize the industrial advantage of ‘Made in Jiangsu’ with the geostrategic advantage of Morocco as a gateway to Africa and Europe, to help businesses from both countries cooperate in technological R&D, industrial establishment, and mutual recognition of standards, in order to conquer African and European markets together and achieve a high-level win-win partnership.”
Through the Africa EV Mobility Expo, considered the largest African exhibition dedicated to electric mobility, Morocco confirms its role as a leader in clean and sustainable mobility while offering Africa a major platform to shape its energy and industrial future.
