The promotion of the activities of the two leading trade shows in the green technology sector in Africa and the Middle East, namely “Ecomondo” and “KEY The Energy Transition Expo,” has been the subject of an important partnership between Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) and Confindustria Assafrica-Mediterraneo.

This collaboration aims to intensify relations with the countries of Africa and the Middle East in 2025 and 2026, thanks to the network of accredited embassies in Italy, the Italian diplomatic network, and key local stakeholders, according to a statement from IEG.

Part of IEG’s internationalization policy for events, the goal is to promote the cutting-edge technologies and solutions that both events, particularly Ecomondo, offer for climate change mitigation, proper waste management, and water valorization, while also emphasizing bioenergy and the development of renewable energies.

The 2025 edition of Ecomondo, which will take place at the Rimini Fair from November 4 to 7, will be presented to the diplomatic network of Africa and the Middle East in Italy this Wednesday in Rome, at the headquarters of Confindustria, it is specified.

Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will participate in this meeting, the same source adds, noting that in the coming weeks, the two trade shows will also be promoted to the network of accredited Italian embassies in these countries and to key local stakeholders.

The 2025 edition of Ecomondo will also be an opportunity to organize the “Africa Green Growth” Forum, now in its fifth edition, which will delve into cooperation initiatives and future prospects in the circular economy sectors on the African continent, focusing on the progress of the Mattei Plan, recently extended to five other countries, namely Angola, Ghana, Mauritania, Senegal, and Tanzania.

African markets have been part of Ecomondo’s hosting and promotion activities for several years, and 169 operators from the continent were present in Rimini during the previous edition.
