    As part of the High Royal Guidelines advocating for the integration of Sustainable Development principles into all public policies and economic sectors of the Kingdom, Ms. Leila Benali, Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, and Mr. Khalid Safir, General Director of the Deposit and Management Fund, signed a framework partnership agreement on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, aimed at accelerating the transition to a green and low-carbon economy.

    This agreement, which is part of a national dynamic to support strategic projects for sustainable development, defines the modalities of collaboration between the CDG and the MTEDD to support the implementation of key initiatives and strategic projects in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency, ecological infrastructure, and green innovation.
    The main areas of partnership concern:

    • Contribution to the deployment of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development;
    • Exemplarity of public administration in terms of sustainable development;
    • Participation in the implementation of projects of the Nationally Determined Contribution;
    • Support for Territorial Climate Plans, and promotion of energy efficiency, particularly in the sectors of public lighting, buildings, mobility, and waste management;
    • Financing and structuring of renewable energy projects, particularly in the fields of green hydrogen and electricity transport;
    • Support for the creation of industrial ecosystems and mechanisms to support research and innovation in sectors related to energy transition.

    This partnership represents a new step in the joint commitment of the CDG and the MTEDD to promote sustainable, inclusive, and resilient development, in alignment with the strategic ambitions of the Kingdom regarding energy transition and the fight against climate change.
