Facing environmental challenges related to plastic, several major food brands, such as **Bret’s, Sodebo, and Florette**, are testing a **deposit system** for their packaging. This initiative aims to **reduce waste** by encouraging consumers to **return their empty packaging** after use.

    ### A large-scale test for more responsible consumption

For a period of **18 months**, consumers of chips and salads will be able to purchase their products in **reusable rigid plastic packaging**. A **deposit of 30 to 80 cents** is applied at purchase, refundable in the form of **vouchers or bank transfers** once the packaging is returned.

    ### Clear signage and pilot stores

To easily identify the products involved, the brands have adopted a **common packaging** with the mention **“Return me for reuse.”** This system is currently being tested in **more than 19 points of sale**, notably in several **Super U and Carrefour Market** stores located in the **North and East of France**.

If this model proves effective, it could be **extended to other brands** and contribute to **achieving the European goal of 10% reusable packaging by 2030**.
