The sustainable commitment of the OCP Group to renewable energies was highlighted in Toronto (Ontario) during the annual congress of the Canadian Association of Prospectors and Developers (ACPE).

Speaking on Monday at this meeting, Mr. Adnane El Ktiri, senior financial analyst at OCP, emphasized the group’s investment program, which aims to increase fertilizer production capacity while committing to achieving carbon neutrality by 2040.

These investments will allow the OCP Group, the world’s largest producer of phosphate-based fertilizers, to become self-sufficient in green ammonia supply and renewable energy, the analyst stated.

Present on five continents, OCP invests in renewable energies and sustainable water management, Mr. El Ktiri noted, adding that OCP aims to operate all its industrial facilities on green energy by 2027.

He also reported on strategic projects undertaken by the group that will ultimately enhance green hydrogen and ammonia production capacities.

The Moroccan delegation participating in the annual ACPE congress, a major event in the global mining industry, includes officials from UM6P, the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines, and the OCP group.

The ACPE congress, held annually in Toronto since 1932, provides a framework to showcase technological advancements, investment opportunities, and development prospects in the sector.

Morocco’s participation in this event is part of the dynamic to promote the national mining sector within internationally renowned forums, including the ACPE congress, which is a must-attend event for professionals in exploration and the mining industry.

The event (March 2-5) will feature thematic roundtables, exhibitions dedicated to exploration and mining projects, as well as meetings with major industry players.
