In New York, an international coalition involving the UN, donors, scientific institutions, and regional partners announced an investment of $126 million to harness artificial intelligence in service of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

A Tool for Transforming Public Policy
The funds will finance the establishment of the Collaborative Evidence Synthesis Infrastructure (ESIC). Designed with the participation of countries from the Global South and over 200 experts, this platform will use AI to transform scattered local and global knowledge into actionable information for national decision-makers. The goal is to enhance the effectiveness of public policies and accelerate the implementation of the SDGs.

    Thematic and Regional Hubs
The initiative plans to create thematic hubs for data synthesis, regional hubs to amplify local impact, an open data management system, and an agile infrastructure for monitoring and evaluation.

A Strategic Lever for Countries in the Global South
By combining local data, indigenous knowledge, behavioral sciences, and national assessments, this approach aims to generate savings, improve the quality of life for populations, and accelerate collective learning across regions.

This financial mobilization reflects a conviction: AI can become a tangible accelerator of the SDGs, provided it is integrated into an inclusive global governance framework aimed at common prosperity.
